Instructions for TLV431AID
Circuit Configuration:
- The TLV431AID can be used as a precision voltage reference or adjustable shunt regulator.
- Connect the cathode (K) to the output voltage node, and the anode (A) to ground or the lower potential.
- Use a resistor between the control (C) pin and the cathode to set the desired output voltage.
Setting Output Voltage:
- The output voltage is determined by the resistor ratio connected between the control pin and the cathode.
- Formula: ( V_ = V_ left(1 + fracright) )
- Where ( R_1 ) is the resistor from the control pin to ground, and ( R_2 ) is the resistor from the control pin to the cathode.
Power Dissipation:
- Ensure that the power dissipation does not exceed 375mW to avoid overheating.
- Calculate power dissipation using ( P_d = I_k times (V_k - V_a) ).
Temperature Considerations:
- Operate within the specified junction temperature range (-40°C to 125°C).
- Store in environments where temperatures do not exceed -65°C to 150°C.
Handling Precautions:
- Handle with care to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
- Follow standard ESD handling procedures when installing or testing the device.
Mounting and Layout:
- Ensure proper heat sinking if operating near maximum power dissipation.
- Keep leads short to minimize parasitic inductance and improve stability.
